Hi!

I want to know- which algorithm is used in FEKO for UTD solver? I have to use FEKO  for conformal antennas to see the effect of curvature, so I need to know first which algorithm of UTD is used in FEKO 2023.1  version. kindly help me by providing this information.

    Hello Srabonty,

As you know, the UTD solver can not be solely used for the conformal antenna's placement simulations.

I believe you are using the Feko's hybrid solution: Fullwave solver for antenna and UTD for surrounding geometry.

For the surrounding geometry, you have two choices as shown below:  UTD and Faced UTD.

You can find some details about two UTD solvers from the Feko user guide as shown below.

@Jaehoon Kim  sir thanks for your reply but I already read the feko manual as it is written FACETED UTD solver is used here,  my problem is which algorithm of UTD they used here?

    Hello Srabonty,

my problem is which algorithm of UTD they used here?

-> I'd like to share one slide excerpted from the Feko Antenna training material showing that Feko UTD can consider many different ray types (Direct, Reflected, Diffracted, Creeping,,,), which is also applicable for the faceted UTD, I believe.

    image

You can control the UTD's rays in the Feko solver setting as below. (Please click on "Advanced" in Ray contributions.)

    Regards,

    Jaehoon

PS) Please let me know with some more explanation, if I misunderstood about your question.

@Jaehoon Kim sir - I am interested on the code/ math like for UTD in FEKO, Which numerical algorithm Feko uses to calculated diffraction from the curvature in UTD?

@Srabonty Soily  Definitely, your question is beyond my range, but the following paper is one of our developers' main references for the UTD implementation.
