hundred's of plies from Free size composite optimization
HI,
I run a free size composite optimization and i have ended up with more then 400 plies where most of the plies are just one element long. I was thinking why is that and how to deal with it.
I also add a mindim = 4*average element size but still i can see plies which are only 1 element long and wide.
Any idea why I am getting such plies?

Can you share us the .fem file to take a quick look? If you are adding a minimum dimension manufacturing constraints, after entering mindim value please make sure to update from free size panel.

I am attaching the hm file you can run it as it is and can see if you are also getting the same issue?
I slightly modify the tutorial. I am running PCOMPP instead of PCOMPG

I have checked that and it seems like there is no automated tool by which we can prevent getting such small plies? and one has to manually delete them which might be tedious
