Line Load

Hi,

I came across the below topic as I was looking how to create a line load:

The above link works for when you have a known amount of beam nodes, but in a shell model I will have to count the edge nodes every time and that will not be efficient. In other NASTRAN pre-processors you can specify if the point load is total or placed equally on each node. Is there an option or load type in Optistruct that can distribute the total point load over the selected nodes?

This tactic is often used in shell models to simulate knife edge loads on flat sections.

Thank you

    Hi,

If your goal is to automatically divide the force you will apply to the nodal points you choose, you should choose "nodally distributed" in the force application panel.
