Hi,

I am working on a hydraulic circuit and came accross Directional control valve. According to the actually design i need 6/3 DC valve, which different configuration from the one which is available in Altair.

I need help in configuring that available block to the one i need. i will be tagging both the available block and the block i need.  How to build the lookup table for the same!?

This is the valve you want:

This is the valve in HydraulicsByFluidon library:

The only difference is the pressure relief from A and B to T in center position. It can be achieved with a negative overlapping. As you already mentioned, this is done with the look-up tables.

Both AT an BT uses the same data (positive direction in look-up table is opening direction), e. g. [-1, 0; -0.1, 0; 1, 1]. This means that you have a range of +/- 10 % of stroke where A and B are connected to T.

    Hi Roket,

Thank you, one help is want to simulate all the 3 positions of that valve, not just the middle one. Like when i give input as -1 or 0 or 1, it has to change its position. And the look up table you mentioned [-1,0;.....], can you say what does ordinate and abscissa mean? I will attach a clear picture of DV valve for better understanding. This valve application is to control the direction of hydraulic motor. In centre it should be in neutral, left and right are like forward rotation and backward rotation.

Could you please help me out in this! Thank you

The valve is defined for all positions, it represents exactly the 'Detailed DC valve', with the only difference that PropValve53PT2 is a proportional valve (continuous displacement of spool), your sketch shows a switching valve (just positions -1, 0 and 1). But this can be modeled by using the corresponding input signal.

The look-up table represents the relative openening of a metering edge versus relative spool stroke. With [-1, 0; -0.1, 0; 1, 1] e. g. for AT it's closed in position -1, it's 10 % opened in middle position (position 0) and fully opened in position 1. For BT it's vice versa with the same look-up table because BT is opening for negative displacement, means: BT it's closed in position 1, it's 10 % opened in middle position (position 0) and fully opened in position -1.
