The SUBCASE ID in ATT1 field of DRESP1 does not refer to a modal FRF subcase.

Hey guys,
I am conducting a topology optimization with an eigen mode subcase. The analysis works fine. However, when setting a topology optimization the following error is given:
The SUBCASE ID in ATT1 field of DRESP1 1 does not refer to a modal FRF subcase.
The model setup is pretty much exatly the same to the tutorial: OS-2020: Increasing Natural Frequencies of an Automotive Splash Shield with Ribs.
Can you give me a hint why this error occurs?
Cheers,
Mike

Hi @nipundahra
Which version of Hyperworks are you using?
This is a bug in 2017 and is fixed in 2017.2 which will be released soon. You can run the same in older versions instead.

Hi @rahul rao
Make sure you are selecting loadstep for frequency response when creating objective/Dconstraint function and not when creating the frequency response itself.

Rahul
Dont select when creating response. instead select when you create objective or constraint.

when i do not select load step in response option then it is not creating a response

I am able to create frequency response without selecting any load step
Delete the existing and recreate another one.

HOW R U CREATING THAT? CAN U TELL THE STEP BY STEP PROCESS...

Responses>> FREQ>> Provide a name>> enter the mode number>> do not select loadstep>> click create

ok i can send u this file with same inputs for topography optimmiization

Rahul,
try this file
P,S: let me know once you are done with downloading. I will delete the file.

this is error i got when i ran the file which u gave me

Rahul,
You are trying a topography optimization. I would suggest to use frequency as either objective or constraint and use volume or mass as other response.
Though mass and volume will not reduce drastically, but it will support.
Hi Mike,
I am facing the same problem. I wanted to ask if you were you able to overcome this problem and if yes,can you please explain how?
