NLGEOM analysis problem

Dear all

I am using NLGEOM method to solve a nonlinear problem. I want to use discrete date to define material. And the first (x1,y1) are (0, 310), 310 is the initial yield point.

But when I analysis, there comes a problem. The following shows the problem.

 *** ERROR # 3002 ***
The first point (X1,Y1) specified on the TABLES1 bulk data entry ID=5
is not located at the origin of the stress-strain curve.

I don't know why, could you help me with that?  The model I used is as follows.  Thanks!

The LIMIT1 field can be blank, if the initial yield point value is defined via a referenced TABLES1 entry on the TID field.

I tried that, but it doesn't work.

    hi, Rahul

I have already set TYPSTRN value to 1, but there still comes the error message. I don't know why. Eager for your answering. Thanks!

Change Mat type to Plastic and run the analysis.

I checked your model & it seems that you defined MATS1 parameter correctly.

I ran your model and it ran complete without any error in 14.0 (210 solvers patch)version.Same file if i run in 13.0 it throws error 3002.I am not sure about reason.

But if you have access to 14.0 please try same in latest version.

Thanks for your patience. Sorry I don't have access to 14.0.

I have changed the first date to (0,0), second data to (0,310)  and set TYPSTAN to 0, then it can be run without error.

But I don't know whether the result is right or not. Could you tell me?

Most of the time we accept results comes out of implicit solver.I believe you would have setup load & boundary condition property with correct material properties.

If testing results is available then one crosscheck with same. Results is right or wrong that analyst need to evaluate based on engineering skills.
