Microsoft Security Update causing Monarch to fail with 'Cannot create temporary work file.'

Our investigation found that KB4480970 2019-01 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 x64 contained one or more patches that is causing Monarch to fail when opening certain projects. The error dialogue box titled 'Cannot create temporary work file.' appears almost immediately.

We confirmed this by uninstalling this KB and testing the Monarch project with success.

We have applied an updated patch that was to address issues found in KB4480970, but it has not resolved the error.

Has anyone experienced similar issues and found a solution?

Thank you!

    Hi Ripan,

    Same.

And I know it is not supported, but the support site helped.

Do you know if version 14.3 is affected?

    Regards,

    A

14.3 does not have the same issue. I tested the same model/project that had the error in 10.5 and it opened fine in 14.3.

    Thanks!
