Hi everyone,
I am doing Hex meshing but the elements are not uniform between parts. I want to use the "Connect" tool in simlab to connect them and the number of elements on the same edge is the same in two parts. But when I select the object in " Connect" I can't " Apply" or " ok". So how do I use this tool?
The main part is the part pointed to by the yellow arrow
The subsection is the part where the blue arrow points to

    Hello,

Select both the bodies or faces (Overlapping faces) and click Apply / Ok. Please refer the attached video. Also, attached the help page of the connect tool.

We have this tutorial in SimLab learning center (SLC). Below link will take you to this tutorial.

I still don't understand the workings of the "Preserve body" option (I can't make " apply" or " ok" to activate the " Preserve Body" option)

    Hello,

The preserve body option will work for the below 2 connections.

    1. Side face > Matching mesh
      • The node connection will work for the side faces which perpendicular to the extrude direction.
      • The preserve body option will work for the face input.
      • The modifiable body should have only one layer on the overlapping region. The other body mesh can be preserved.
      • Refer "MatchingMesh.gda"

    1. Top face
      • The node connection will work on the extrude direction.
      • The preserve body option will work for the face input.
      • The preserve body face should be enclosed within the modifiable body.
      • Refer "TopFace.gda"

For your case, the above 2 approaches will not work. Select the overlapping face on the blue body and use either revolve / sweep option. This will create the same mesh.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Santhoshkumar
