How i can model a spring element with axial and radial stiffness in Optistruct?

Please Help?

As per my understanding PBUSH element have K4,K5&K6 for rotation stiffness not axial stiffness.

Please explain.

Thanks

Hemanshu

    Yes K4,K5&K6 is for rotation stiffness.Please note, Rotational stiffness values are input based on rotations defined in Radians.

    Thanks for the reply.

    We want to model a composite (Rubber) hose as a spring (BUSH) element.

    As, hoses are cylindrical (means they have axial and radial stiffness; Best to define in cylindrical co-ordinates) and curved (Not in single Plane). So, i have to model them with multiple bush elements (Each element in different Plane; best to define in cylindrical co-ordinates).

    So, i want to know which bush element is most suitable for my application in cylindrical co-ordinates.

    Please explain the procedure to define also.

    I am attaching here file too showing one model as hose and one model as CBUSH (Just for explanation).

    Thanks

    Hemanshu

    Thankyou rahul.

    While defining CBUSH element in Cylindrical co-ordinates,

    does

    r refers to K1

    z refers to K2

    t refers to K3

    or some different.

    Otherwise can you reply me in my model by creating CBUSH elements with axial stiffness 19680 and radial stiffness 10?

    Please revert.

    Hello everybody,

    @hemanshu

    I need help regarding same. How u get stiffness value of composite rubber hose.

    @Rahul

    Is it possible to realize the crimp joint in better way.
