Bushing creation

Hi everyone,

image

I am trying to model a bushing in a single plate using HyperMesh. Initially, I created RBE2 elements around the hole and intended to create a bushing between two nodes. However, since I have only a single plate and need to use CBUSH elements for the bushing, I am unsure how to proceed.

Could you provide detailed guidance on how to properly create and connect CBUSH elements in this scenario?

    Hi Parthiban,

Usually, CBUSH is created between two components, and you can assign PBUSH properties for them where you can define the spring stiffness.

Follow the below link for this.

    Thanks for the Reply Rajashri,

In this case I am trying to model bush in a single plate. Where there is no second component to connect.

What can I do in this case?

Can you explain what you are representing by creating the CBUSH?

Like I need to find the stiffness of the Plate hole , with the presence of the Bushing.

In that case may be one end of the bushing you can fix and other end you can connect to center hole RBE2.

    Thanks

imageAlso another Doubt, In this picture representation, which will be appropriate for apply bushing between two components, first or second?

    • First, I created rigid elements around the holes and connected them using CBUSH.
    • Second, I first created a beam element between the two holes. Then, from one end of the beam to the rigid elements, I created a CBUSH, setting its distance to zero at both ends.

Both the methods are correct in their own way. In the 2nd one it is good use Beam element in the middle instead of rigid.

    Thanks
