Importing mesh from hyperworks to hyperworks CFD

I have been trying to import mesh that I created in hyperworks 2021 and trying to use it in Hyperworks CFD. However, I am facing issues such as I am not able to manipulate elements in it due to which I am not able to run the simulation. I have created the mesh in and saved in ".hm" file extension with two cases. First, saving only the elements/mesh and in second, saving both mesh and solid geometry. When I am opening it in Hyperworks CFD, the boundary conditions cannot be given to the meshes and when I am giving the boundary conditions to the solid geometry/ surfaces, then it is not taken by the mesh. Kindly help me resolving this issue

Even though both HyperWorks and HyperWorks-CFD used .hm file extension, they were never designed to be 100% compatible, due to techincal reasons (CFD often has high element count, that needs special treatment compared to structural meshes).

If you use the latest versions, you will realize that we have moved to .hmcfd and .hm file extensions, to avoid this confusion.

Couple of options that worked for many users:

I would recommend starting from scratch in HW-CFD/HM-CFD. Go from CAD to Solver input in the same interface (version).
If for some reason you have done CAD cleanup in HW and do not want to repeat in HWCFD, then
- please export the CAD as Parasolid
- or Mesh as .NAS file,

to be later imported in HWCFD.
