Imposing the deformation of one component to another consecutive one.

I apologise if the topic has already been covered. As part of a master's thesis, I am working on a complex model consisting of several components. The deformation of one of these must be transmitted to another, so that the latter also deforms. The model can be simplified as follows: two plates are placed consecutively. Let 's consider a force applied to the left plate, as in the first picture. As the left plate deforms, it should touch the right plate and deform the latter. As shown in the second picture, however, the left plate penetrates the right one without achieving the expected behaviour. What could be the solution? Thank you for your support.

Hello,
Have you defined any contact between the two plates?

Hi @giacomoandri,
There are several different products that can achieve this type of flexible body to flexible body contact.
For example, here is a simple concept I created using Inspire:
After creating a Contact between the two parts, you can enable the FlexContact+ option in the Run Motion Analysis dialog box to achieve this flexible contact:
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I tried to define a contact between the two plates using the AutoContact tool, without success.

You have to adjust the proximity tolerance to be larger than the actual gap between the two different components.
