Topography optimisation

Hi,

I want to run a topography optimization of a sheet metal component, but I would like to restrict the shape change with barrier mesh inside and outside due to the adjacent components. How can I do this?. Can someone help me with this concern?. I know that barrier mesh option is available in free shape optimization but I really want to make use of only Topography optimization as it is a sheet metal component.

Thanks and regards,

Punith

    Hi,

in topography optimization formulation make sure to define draw height (to a lesser extent minimum bead width and draw angle) so as not to violate package space of adjacent components.

Since version 2019 a new GRID-based free-shape optimization with more flexible shape changes for shells and solids, enabling the nodes to move normal to the surface is available. This method would probably also allow barrier mesh option.
