Metric, Ultrametric or Simple Tree in clustering

Hi, i have a simple question. The resulting tree of agglomerative clustering is a ultrametric, metric or a simple tree?? Please, appreciate any clarification. Is there a good book to know the rapidminer operations? any articles or something?
