Quick question - does Rapid Miner contain a gradient boost for trees? Something akin to the recent winner using Statistica:

Yes! New release 7.2 has Gradient Boosted Trees

currently not and it is not yet planned for the future. But you might add it to the feature requests, or contribute it yourself in one or another way.
