Beam dynamic analysis
Altair EmployeeHi,
I am trying to use hyperworks to do a beam dynamic analysis.
Basically, the scenario is as follows:
First, a distributed load is applied on a cantilever beam. The beam deflects according to the load.
Second, release the load and the beam vibrates.
How should I set up the loadsteps to find the resulting motion of the above steps?

Try following the tutorial - Altair OptiStruct > OptiStruct Tutorials and Examples > Tutorials > Advanced Small Displacement Finite Element Analysis:
OS-1310: Direct Transient Dynamic Analysis of a Bracket
For excite ID instead of the darea create a force, and make sure the tabled1 reflects your loading history, something like below image.
