Both your shells are 2mm thick, so the gap between them needs to be 2mm (0.5 x Main + 0.5 x Secondary)
I know that 'physically' these parts would not be penetrating as they are perpendicular to each other, but with Type 7 interface they do penetrate!
Since the gap extends around the end of elements there would be penetration whichever is defined as Main and which secondary
If you cannot offset the parts or edge by a further mm, then you should look at using Interface Type 25 with Ishape and Igap0 values set appropriately
I created the TYPE25 contact (please check the attachment) for these two parts. But in penetration checker this TYE25 contact is not getting listed. Can't we check the penetration and intersection is TYE25 contacts?
No, unfortunately not, there is no check for Type 25 in HM yet, it is less critical though due to it being linear stiffness based, as you have set inacti = 5 too you should be ok regardless.I created the TYPE25 contact (please check the attachment) for these two parts.
