Hello, I have completed a Optistruct optimization for a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer car chassis. So I now have a Hyperworks model of the numerous ply shapes that resulted from this optimization. I was wondering if there was any way in hyperworks to change this 3-D model of the ply shapes into a 2-D template that can be traced onto the carbon fiber and the cut out. Does Hyperworks have a built in system that does this?

We are using Solidworks as our CAD software. Attached is an example of a ply shape.

Thank you.

    Hi @AlecT

Are you looking for a way to export element data to surface?

You can export ply to Geometry using Ply Geometry Smoothing in AeroSpace profile which is not available with Student Edition.
