I am currently working on a carbon fiber monocoque.
Using the symmetric option on the laminate i noticed that adding some rohacell to the laminate increases incredibly the displacement with respect to the same laminate using only carbon fiber. Using the smear core option instead i obtain reduced displacements as expected. I can't figure out why, especially since using rohacell with the option symmetric or smear core, in the formula sae tutorial monocoque, gives very similar results.
