Sir,
I want to create foam material with density 140kg/m3 density. Should I use MAT LAW 70 . What all properties should I define to get the energy absorbed by foam material as output. Currently I have only density data and shell meshing
Hi,
You can use /MAT/LAW70 for modelling foam, but can only be used with solid elements. Law 70 is a simple material model for visco-elastic foam tabulated material where the viscosity is defined by stress-strain curves for different strain rate. You should have the loading functions which describes the behavior of the foam upon loading.
Please go through the attached model file which is a case where Law70 is used.
For shell elements use Lsw69. Please go through the Help Menu on this material law.
