Autocontact in Radioss
Hi,
I've started to use Radioss few days ago, and I'm performing an impact analysis on a vehicle component.
Actually I'm not able to find the Autocontact tool (as in Hypermesh Optistruct) in order to set all the contact surfaces.
Can you tell me where could I find it please?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
We don't have an AutoContact tool in RADIOSS similar to OptiStruct. I think you are trying to model a self interface. If so, then you can model the same using Type 7 interface.

Ok, we used the interface Type 7 but now the problem is that it finds many initial penetrations that it can't fix automatically, and doing it manually is not feasible.
The simulation runs without errors but with many warnings related to this problem: thus the error is 99.9% during the run.
How could we solve this?
Thank you in advance

Hi,
Did you try fixing the initial penetrations using penetration check (Tools>>Penetration check) tool in HyperMesh?.
The below post shows the same:
For Type 7 interface use the recommended parameters:
Istf=4
Igap=2
Fscale_Gap=0.8
INACTI=6
Gap_min=
Fric = 0.1
Iform=2.
Use a small Gapmin value for the contact.

Yes, we fixed some of the penetrations through the penetration check tool, but not all the penetrations were solved.
We will try again by setting all the parameters on the type 7 interface as you suggested.
