Mechanical Shock Test

1. I need to do an analysis by giving an acceleration of 20g (longitudinal) and 8g (transverse) for 50ms and similar for 65ms. How do i go about it. Can i do it on optistruct or Radioss.

2. Also i need to do a vibration test for the same component between 7 Hz and 50 Hz and back to 7 Hz traversed in 15 minutes. I have to do this for 12 cycles.

You can use OptiStruct. Calculate the load for 20G and use it as FORCE.

You can use Frequency response subcase to model the same.

@Prakash Pagadala How do I do w.r.t time? I need to apply 20G for 5ms. Can I use the TSTEP card.

You need to use Transient response subcase if you want to provide time.

@Prakash Pagadala how can i ask for acceleration and displacement as output as well. i did for displacement as shown in the tutorial.

my output reuqest is stated as so 'Acceleration exerted to the part to be measured with a minimum of 2 kHz bandwidth. (ACCELERATION)'
