Hi,

What should be the Boundary conditions for a free fall impact of an object to another object?

Let's say we have a rigid ball falling on a steel plate.

I have modeled this using initial velocity only by with gravity pull and 0 initial velocity the solver doesn't recognize it.

what am I missing?

Could you please give me one or two hints?

One important issue is that I cannot change the direction of gravity or imposed acceleration. I want it -z but it only have positive. and there is no box for adding value to it.

Thanks

If you want to model a RIGID SPHERE, you should define a CONTROL NODE and define the motion based on the CONTROL NODE.

Please follow the Impact Test Tutorials on our learning center, or follow these slides from our Instructor-Lead Training (Droptest and Impact Analysis):

    Allesio, Thanks a lot!

This is awesome! I was using Hypermesh environment though. I will try to learn this and implement it in hypermesh or transfer my model to hyperworks.

    Thank you.
