1d beam element modeling

Updated by Altair Forum User
I am trying to model the 1d beam element for a cylinder type geometry
but the results seem too big.
can somebody help me to check?

Hi, Ivan:
thank you very much for the help.
sure, i will give a trial for size optimization and find the best diameter of the tube
i may need more help on this optimization side, i will keep you posted.

Ivan:
I conducted a simple topology optimization analysis, and in the final iteration, there is element density distribution results.
then how could i export such element density results out for the other FEA analysis?
please see my fem file.

Hi dajeet,
assuming the units are ton,mm,s,N,MPa it seems that the beams are too slender (0,5mm radius) for a cantilever with 125N total force with and a moment arm of 1000mm.
So despite being made of stiff material (carbon fiber) this structure would deform excessively IMHO .
I suggest running size optimization to determine proper dimensions.
