Error running Laminate optimization
Hello,
I attached the .FEM file of the optimization I want tot run. I don't know what's going wrong, anyone can help me out?

Hi,
Use Tools>Model Checker>Optistruct to find modeling errors.
https://insider.altairhyperworks.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/T-T-1248-HyperMesh-Model-Checker.pdf
In your model there are modeling errors:
-no thickness was defined in the non-design property
-material UD-1200 had E2=0 however UD plies have some transverse stiffness http://www.performance-composites.com/carbonfibre/mechanicalproperties_2.asp
-no Poisson's ratio was assigned on material BIAX-300-590
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Construction was not connected to plating, so I have defined TIE contact using tools>contact browser>AutoContact
https://altairhyperworks.com/pdfs/tips/1095.pdf
The loads and boundary condition are incorrectly set up. The model should be properly constrained to prevent rigid body modes and unreasonable deformations.
I have undefined the SPC in the load step and set up inertial relief (PARAM>INREL>-2) instead, but the deformation is still unreasonable. Check the relevant literature on how such problems are constrained. The other model attached is constrained in all DOFs (encastre).
Once all these issues are resolved in the baseline model, you will be able to run optimization:

Hello,
Massive thanks for your reply... As you undoubtly already noticed am i not such an experienced user in hyperworks. Your response is very clear and exactly what i needed /emoticons/default_biggrin.png' srcset='/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x' title=':D' width='20' />
Thanks a lot Ivan!!
