Hi everyone,
Currently I am using optistruct for the size optimization of a truss structure. Currently I am following the tutorial: Conceptual design of a bicycle frame.
This tutorial can be found in the following link:
https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwic57Og5bnbAhXKY1AKHa5RB5kQFggpMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Faltairuniversity.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2017%2F10%2FTutorial_Conceptual_Bike_Design_updated.pdf&usg=AOvVaw2l_GCi_dWKjbOzwZ_ETXc2
I am able to follow al the steps but unfortunately I obtain the following error when I want to perform the analysis on the bicycle frame.
*** ERROR # 1203 *** in the input data:
Vector defined in fields 6-8 has zero length.
I understand that the problem arise from the fact the orientation of the beam is not properly defined. The problem is that I don't know how to fix it.
I have tried to define the orientation of the beams, which looks alright when I turn on the 1D detailed element representation. But still the error remains.
When I import the provided tutorial model files, then I am able to run the analysis but the results button does not appear. What could be the cause of these problems and where can I find the required information to solve these problems. Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
Regards, Mike
