Hi guys,

i am part of the Formula Student Team of my univesity. I got to do a topology optimization and a following stress/strain analysis of a wheel hub. As it is a rotational part, the loads will be applied on the geometrie in infinit degree increments around the longitudinal axis of the hub. One solution i came up with would be to create several user coordinate systems which are rotated around this axis and transform the loads in this new systems by creating new loadcollectors and loadsteps. Of course this can not be done infinite times and would need much effort even for applying the loads every 10 degree increment for example. For the topology optimization i allready use cyclic pattern grouping which works ok but not perfect, because the different areas of the geometry do not have the same cyclic symmetry. I seperated the model in 3 parts with different cyclic symmetries. In the optimization result these parts do not match because of the varying of cyclic symmetry.

Is there a possibility to apply the same loadstep a full rotation around the geometry?

I attached my current model with an additional user coordinate system which is rotated by 30 degrees around the y-axis and a view of the hole in-wheel assembly in CAD, maybe it helps to understand my problem. The _des.h3d optimization result with pattern grouping can be found under this link to my onedrive folder: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoQR0WVxYZp9jtx0X-7580_HIWTKiw.

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Juri.
