hello, i am a student who started to use optistruct to do fatigue analysis. Regarding to the fatigue analysis of optistruct, there are two results  will display which are fatigue damage and fatigue life. As i read in the previous altair forum , it stated that hyperwork use miner's rule. So, my question is what is the result of fatigue life from the optistruct represent for? thank you

    Hi @amin96

Fatigue life gives an idea of how long the material will last before failure due to cyclic loading.

from what i have done, the value of fatigue damage is above 1 and the fatigue life is 1xe-4. i have read another altair forum which stated that if the value of fatigue damage is above 1 then the design is considered as a failure. so, does that mean my design is a failure?
regarding to the value of fatigue life above, does that mean my design will be failure even one cycle is not completed?
    thank you

    Hi,

Can you check the SN curve?

If the SN curve is fine, Please add DEBUG,DEFAULT,2 and try again?

    Hi,

use RNFLOW to output rainflow cycle count.
