Help with resetting PSIM Student License (forgot to deactivate on old PC)

Question

Hi Altair team,

I'm a student using the PSIM Student Edition for my study. A few days ago, I reinstalled Windows on my old laptop and sold it, but I completely forgot to deactivate the PSIM license first. Now I can't activate it on my new machine.

Could someone help me reset the activation key from your end so I can continue with my school work?

Hi Rahul_P1, I am trying to reactivate the student license on my new computer, but I am getting the 'different HostIDs' error. Could you please completely reset the HostID for my activation key? Thank you!

Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the student license with the same license key.

Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –
