PRELOAD/AXIAL TRUSS ELEMENTS RADIOSS

Hello everyone,

I am working on a Radioss explicit simulation in HyperMesh 2026 and I need to apply an axial preload tension to a set of truss elements (string modeled with /PROP/TYPE2) to simulate the pretension of a tennis racket stringing.

According to the Radioss 2026 Reference Guide, this should be done using the /PRELOAD/AXIAL keyword (introduced in Radioss 2024).

However, I cannot find any corresponding panel or option in the HyperMesh 2026 ribbon or Load Cases menu.

Is there a function in the ribbon that can do this, or do I need to add it manually in the .rad file?

Hi Matteo,

Currently, the keyword /PRELOAD/AXIAL is not supported in HyperMesh, but it's supported in Radioss.

So you can create the load case in separate include files and use it with the main file.
