Error when starting simulation

Hello! I am a fresher to EDEM, I have just used it for 2 days, hence, now I am facing trouble with my case. I am trying to simulate double mixer, after I set up and when I move to simulator, I hit the button "start simulating" but it is unable to run without any message. How can I identify the problem? I hope you can help me.

This is related to the size and scale of the particles related to the geometry. With EDEM and the DEM method in general we can simulate a few million particles. A big simulation that would require a good GPU wold be typically 10-50 million particles. CPU takes 10x or longer than GPU to run a case.

As the particles are 0.03 mm diameter and the domain is 1.5 m long this would mean a lot of particles. The factory rate of 1 kg/s translates to ~3 billion particles per second, ultimately the simulation isn't able to get past the first time-step due to the memory requirements.

To work around this we would scale the particles (meso-scopic modelling). The typical approach is to scale the particles and calibrate to ensure we obtain the correct bulk behaviour:

Scaling by a factor of ~100 allows the simulation to run but i'd recommend calculating the total number of particles expected and estimating the simulation run time with the scaled particles. This way you can set the scaling factor to a practical value.
