I would like to clarify the current availability of the Altair SLC Personal Edition.
At the moment, I have downloaded and tested the SLC 2025 engine installer, which appears to allow local usage without requiring Altair Managed Licensing (ALM), effectively behaving like a Personal Edition.
However, when testing the SLC 2026 bundled installer (SLC + Analytics Workbench), I consistently encounter prompts related to Altair Managed Licensing (e.g. almutil -a1auth), suggesting a stronger integration with Altair Units / AltairOne.
This leads me to a couple of questions:
What is currently the latest available version of Altair SLC Personal Edition?
Is there (or will there be) a Personal Edition for SLC 2026?
Or is the 2026 release intentionally focused on ALM-based licensing only?
It would be great to understand whether:
I am interpreting this behavior correctly, or
there is a configuration or alternative installer that I may have overlooked.
