Hi, I'm looking into the design of a componet subject to strong random vibrations, I read that Optistruct can use the stress response of a random vibration as a constraint in the topology optimization, and can optimize the structure such that the 3 sigma stress stays below a certain limit for the component subject to the vibrations. I, however, can't find any tutorials online on how to do this. Does someone know if this is possible and if so, if it's commonly used?
I've also read that it can take a very long time, and it's therefore simpler to simply minimize compliance to get a somewhat similar result.
Is there someone that has experience in this field that knows about this?
Looking forward to the response!
Kind regards,
Steven
