Simlab 2026, solvers option not visible in the solutions

Dear Altair Team,

I've installed Altair Simlab 2026 (student version) and I've also replaced the 'solvers' folder under SimLab\bin\win64\solvers with 'solvers' folder provided in the Simlab additionals zip, restarted the Simlab, also as an Admin few times, but i'm not able to see the solvers option in the window, as described in the tutorial videos. Need your help!

We had already many comments :) If you can put the comment as accepted, I'd appreciate it.

That line is missing in your solver deck. There was an update in Simlab for the dialogs, it seems it is missing in the student version. And because of that it is not exporting that line when solving. I already asked it to be included for further versions. Hope this clarifies it. Thanks!

Hello,

Due to student license, you don't have access to all solvers. But you can run the simulation within Simlab. Thanks.

thank you for your reply, I don't understand, are the solvers not available only in Simlab Student license or is across all Apps which are available with student license.

Okay, let me explain my goal here I'm trying to get transient magnetic flux, heat transfer and torque ripples data from simulating a BLDC Motor, I'm completely new to Altair and i would like to know whether it can be achieved with the available apps under student license.

Hello Manoj,

The solvers are available (you have to use Altair ones, they will be set by default), you can run the solution within Simlab. Here an example:

I'm actually trying to use 'Optistruct' solver inside Simlab, which i've installed using 'hw2026_win64.exe' installer, what I'm i missing here? Isn't 'Altair® OptiStruct®' available with student license ?

Hello Manoj,

When you installed, did you also downloaded the zip file called Simlab Additionals? Recent Discussions

The one you downloaded is external from Simlab. If you didn't used the additionals. Please download, unzip it. Inside you'll find a folder called solvers. Copy it and then head where you have Simlab installed. Here an example: C:\Program Files\Altair\2026\SimLab\bin\win64

Then look for the folder solvers. And copy what's inside the solvers folder. Thank you!

I've already did follow these exact steps, from another post which was suggested by you, but still i don't seem to find Altair solvers inside Simlab Application as shown in the pictures from me.

Hello Manoj,

You won't see them in the Simlab UI, it will be set by Simlab automatically. You can see in the video, there isn't the choice either. But you can still run it. Please follow the same steps as the video and let me know if you get any errors when running. Thanks!

Firstly I've followed the video you uploaded it works without any errors.
Secondly I'm trying to follow the "Getting started with Simlab" course. https://learn.altair.com/learn/course/getting-started-with-simlab-elearning/main/getting-started-with-simlab?page=2
In that under "Level 1 Tune the Pot: Solution Setup & Running the Solution" I'm unable to see the option to select solvers, trying to ignore it I followed through the video to get the results and i encountered with an error. An this is what the log file shows:

Hello Manoj,

The error isn't because you have the wrong solver, so don't worry about that. It's a problem with your setup. Can you provide some screenshot of your solution, your loads, solver settings and so on? Thank you!

Hi Manoj,

From the error message I can say that you have not defined the EIGRL card which is called in METHOD field correctly. Can you verify on this?

I'm assuming your referring to this, and I'm just trying to follow the course I've mentioned above and there's nothing about setting the EIGRL card if i remember correctly.

I've been trying for over a week now just trying to overcome this error, any kind of solution will be of great help.

Hello Manoj,

If possible, can you share the fem file? You can retrieve it either from your scratch directory or when you run. Hit right click while it is running and select open running folder.

Another question. When you created the normal solution. What extraction method did you use? Make sure to have Lancoz. You can double click on the solution name and see
