License Reset Request - Reinstalled Windows (Already activated using different HostIDs)

Question

Hi Altair Support, I reinstalled Windows on my computer and now I cannot activate my Student License. I get the error: "This license was already activated using different HostIDs." Since I reformatted the drive, I cannot deactivate the old one. Please help me reset my license.

Hi @belle_suzu

Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the student license with the same license key.

Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –

I tried reactivating the license on "altair license unity" but it still didn't work. I tried reinstalling PSIM on my machine and reactivating it, but it still didn't work; it kept showing the error "This license was already activated using different HostIDs".

Your previous license key activation was deactivated in Altair one, pls try to reactivate the student license with the same license key.

when I check the students license status on my dashboard, I see the license doesn't deactivate, and the old license is still available there. Is this a delay error or some other problem?

@belle_suzu the license has been deactivated from the backend. The license key remains the same, you need to reactivate using the same key.
