Hello,
I am working on a simulation to look at the resultant deformation of a part after a bending load is applied. For simplicity, it can be thought to be a fixed-free cantilever. I am applying a load that should exceed the yield stress of the material, but when I release the load I want the part to maintain the resulting deformation in simulation. Mat1 is only for elastic deformation, but the MATS1 can be used to apply a stress strain curve for the plastic strain of the material. I have applied that but it does not show the resulting deformation when loaded past yield still. MATX36 on the MAT1 card has similar inputs, but still will not work. I am doing this all in implicit sims.
I have done both static and dynamic sims to achieve this result, and had a force curve that loads to a peak load then is removed to 0. I have even added excessive load and it still goes back the initial state when the load is removed. I have a feeling it has to do with the material card itself. Is there Is there a different material card available that I should use to achieve this? Should RADIOSS or Hypermesh Explicit be used here? Any help would be appreciated.
