Hi! I have downloaded every single 2025 Rapid Miner AI Software and have not been able to download any extensions. I have a Mac and have a student account. It says it failed with a broken pipe in the error message. Please help!

Hi @EmilyMeyer2024 ,
Thank you for posting your question and sorry you are having this difficulty.
I have just tried downloading an extension using AI Studio 2025.1.0 on my own Mac and was successful.
I imagine you know this, but to download a new extension, you would select the Extensions menu and then "Marketplace (Updates and Extensions)…", then search for the extension you wanted, and then follow prompts to install it.
Thanks!
Hi Nicholas,
I did exactly that (went into extensions tab). Once I click marketplace it sends me this. This is partially the details it gives me. I am unsure where to find the log. This error happens every time I try and go on. I just tried it again not too long ago, I would estimate around 5:30PM EST.
Hi again @EmilyMeyer2024 ,
On the same machine where you are running AI Studio, in an internet browser, are you able to reach https://marketplace.rapidminer.com/UpdateServer/ ? If not, then that is the problem, which you would probably need to contact your IT department about.
The log file can be found here:
/Users/<username>/.AltairRapidMiner/AI Studio/<version number>/ai-studio.log
Where you would replace <username> with your actual username, and <version number> with the version number of AI Studio (for example "2025.1.0").
Each line in the log file contains a datestamp, so we would want to examine the log file in the vicinity of the exact time when the error occurred. (It may well be we will just see the log entry in your screenshot.)
Hi again @Nicholas_21406 ,
I am unable to log into the marketplace using the link you gave me. If my IT department at school is unable to help me with this issue, what should I do? I have downloaded every 2025 Mac option and even tried the new 2026 .
Sep 24, 2025 7:24:53 PM WARNING: Error checking for updates: java.io.IOException: jakarta.xml.ws.WebServiceException: Failed to access the WSDL at: https://marketplace.rapidminer.com/UpdateServer/UpdateServiceService?wsdl. It failed with: Broken pipe. Sep 24, 2025 7:34:47 PM WARNING: Could not connect to the marketplace.
I see. Just so I'm clear, from the same computer where AI Studio is running, in a browser (Chrome, Safari, whichever) you are unable to reach "https://marketplace.rapidminer.com/UpdateServer/". However, from the same machine, in the same browser, you are able to reach "https://altairone.com/marketplace" (from where you downloaded the AI Studio installers)?
If your IT is unable to grant you access to "https://marketplace.rapidminer.com/UpdateServer/" you would need to access this address from some personal computer off of the school network. From there you can download the .jar files associated with any extension you would like, and then send them to yourself over email or some other method if they are too large to email. If this is the case, I can give you instructions for how to install the extensions into AI Studio manually.
Oh - if you are running AI Studio on a laptop which you are allowed to use outside of your school's network, then AI Studio should be able to download its extensions without a problem.
I had to make an account to access it because it said the login was wrong. From there, I was able to access the Marketplace from the browser but was unable to download the file and install it in the studio. Can you please provide the instructions to manually install it?
I still can't download extensions when I am off the school network. This was before I made the account, and I haven't tried it off the school network yet.
Here are the instructions for installing an extension if you have the extension file https://docs.rapidminer.com/2025.1/developers/python-sdk/install-extension.html
We would probably need to have a screensharing session to completely understand your situation, in which case you would need to open a Support ticket, which you can do by emailing DASupport@Altair .com
Thank you for the steps. I have emailed to open a support ticket.
Hi @EmilyMeyer2024,
Thanks for opening this Support ticket, as I requested you do.
Unfortunately I was not aware that we are unable to provide Support to nonpaying users, such as students.
I will continue to respond on the Community thread, but I'm afraid we can't provide regular Support so I will have to close out the Support ticket.
Sorry for the misinformation!
What is the status of the issue right now?
