I have been working on a multiphase flow coupled discrete element model in Simlab recently. When setting up multiphase flow in Simlab, the carrier is water, and the two discrete phases are air and particles. However, the diameter appears under the material subdivision. How should I understand this? Is the diameter of the discrete phase of the particles the true diameter of the particles in EDEM? However, when I watch video tutorials, it seems that there is no strict relationship between the two. In addition, does the particle shape also have to be consistent with the particle shape in EDEM?
