I am seeking insights from anyone who has experience using the TFRAC parameter in OptiStruct. Specifically, I would like to understand the function and implications of TFRAC, which is the scale factor for tangential stabilization with respect to normal stabilization.

Could you please provide guidance on when it is appropriate to use TFRAC and how its application might impact the results of a simulation?

If you face convergence issues in frictional contact (e.g., due to abrupt transitions between sticking and slipping), you can add tangential damping to smooth out these transitions.
