Are you using PSIM v2025.0 or earlier and face this strange torque ripple effect from the Flux or FluxMotor model?
This is attributed to the fact that the .mat file contains a non zero initial angle. The .mat uses the mechanical rotor angle and you can be found the rotor angle if you open it.
However, PSIM v2025 or earlier does not takes into account this initial angle when you load the .mat file.
Even if you explicitly set the initial angle, the issue persists due to existing computational problems in the current Flux and FluxMotor models. The aforementioned ripple issue is attributed solely to the non-zero initial angle. These problems are resolved in version 2025.1, which is expected to be released soon.
If you're working with Flux and FluxMotor models, it's recommended to upgrade to version 2025.1, when it will be released (June 2025). This new version integrates Flux and FluxMotor blocks into a single unified block, allowing users to select between star and delta connections.
Uploaded Files: Here you can find the corrected Flux and FluxMotor PMSM models, as subcircuits, for PSIM 2025. Additionally you will find a corrected system level simulation for v2025 including a correction in the integrator that calculates the angle from speed. The integrator needs to take into account the initial "electrical angle".
