I recently started using Altair Hyperlife. I want to do a SN fatigue life analysis using load cases paired with constant amplitude channels, using uniaxial method. I have a streel structure that is welded. My model is 2D shell elements with CBUSH connections for welds.
So how do I want to set it up: I have 1G down load at all time plus bolt pretensions, press fit pretensions, belt force pretensions and so on. So I need to assign these as my mean stress load. My variable loads are: 0.6G vertical, 0.4G lateral, 0.2G longitudinal. So I tried assigning the static load case (1G vertical) in a superposition event, but I need to assign a channel to it because otherwise it will give an error: please assign a channel to event 1. And if I assign a channel to it using constant amplitude there is no way I can assign constant load. Once again, I don't want to assign for vertical 1.6 to 0.4G amplitude, this is not true since all stresses will be scaled and also I cannot assign 1G vertical mean stress in the lateral. How is this performed in Hyperlife? How do you take into your calculation the mean stress?
