Sorry in advance if these questions has already been answered, but I couldnt find much about this topic anywhere. I found two posts about this in this forum but they didnt provide the info I need.
- What are the key differences between PBEAM and PBEAML? As I understand it from the documentation the main difference between both properties is that with PBEAM stress recovery points have to be defined by the user while PBEAML provides predefined stress recovery points and doesnt support custom ones. Also PBEAM seems to support custom cross sections while PBEAML only supports predefined ones. Are the any other differences I'm missig?
- Where exactly are the stress recovery points of the PBEAML cross sections? I'm asking this because the documentation about this (see here) is a bit unclear for some cross sections. For example in the docs the stress recovery point are clearly shown for the CHAN cross section (Fig4) but for the L cross section (Fig13) they are not. Where are points 5, 6, 7 and 8 placed there for example?
- Why did my results change slightly when I switched from PBEAM to PBEAML in my model? I've changed my 1D properties from PBEAM to PBEAML because I want to use the predefined stress recovery points. To ensure that I didnt break anything I did a model analysis directly before and after the change. When comparing both there are minor differences. For example I now have 1259 instead of 1251 eigenmodes in the same frequency range and the location of all modes changed very sligthly.
