Driving a vehicle over sand dunes is called as sand bashing and it is also known as dune bashing.

Sand bashing helps to:

Sand bashing is carried out using three methodologies such as：

Case-1: EDEM+ MotionSolve:

EDEM is used to model sand and MotionSolve is used to model the 4-wheeler with vehicle motion
Vehicle chosen as a rigid body

Case-2: EDEM+ MotionSolve (Deformable Body):

EDEM is used to model sand and MotionSolve is used to model the 4-wheeler with vehicle motion
Sand impact force is obtained as an output
Hood and Skid plate modeled as deformable bodies

Case-3: EDEM+ OptiStruct:

EDEM is used to model sand and OptiStruct is used to model bumper and hood assembly
Sand impact force is obtained as an output
Bumper and hood modeled as deformable bodies

Explore the wear of skid plate, bumper and hood
