Network License server not working

We recently renewed our Adademic license for Altair and we were provided with a new network license to provide for use of the product in our campus labs. Nothing has changed on the server side of things…..same MAC etc and I've verified that the new license matches what we had for that info from last year. Clients worked up until we swapped licenses. Initially I didn't upgrade the license manager (was still using 15.X), so I grabbed the new 2025 version and installed that after removing the old one. The service runs, but the clients are unable to connect. Following are some screen shots of the manager indicating that there are no license servers available, as well as an LMX_NETWORK_DENY error.
The log file doesn't indicate any errors other than one on reporting tools which were not installed as part of this process as the server does not have internet access.
Again, everything was working fine until the upgrade with the new network license file. Same port, no changes to firewall etc. What I find troubling is that while the service starts, it doesn't seem to recognize itself as the host as I'd expect to see the license features listed. The only other thing worth mentioning is that this server is 2016, but I didn't find any information or documentation to suggest it required a newer OS. Help would be appreciated

just to make sure:
- you have stopped the license server/service
- replace the old lic for the new one, using the same name
- started back the service for altair license manager
is that right?
Please consider updating the license server t the newest, anyway.

I cannot upgrade the OS on this license server, because it runs multiple software licenses. I debated about installing the manager on another newer server we have (Server2022), but then I would likely need a new license file because the MAC would have changed, and the keys in the license file would likely no longer be valid

I don't think it's a OS compability issue. Perhaps something wrong with the keys that were generated in the license file or something along those lines

any firewall might be kicking in?
pinging the server works just fine?
maybe some DNS conflict? what about using the IP address instead of the host name?

The last screen shot indicates the newest version is installed and running (2025 Build 16)
Not a firewall issue because again, nothing on that front was changed. I've also tried the IP in place of hostname……same result

hard to tell., then.. i believe you will need to get in direct contact with your closest altair representative, so that they can take a look and review it with you.
