EDEM Error: "Cannot load geometry. No CAD parts were generated" – How to Fix?

Hello, I am encountering an issue when trying to import a CAD file into EDEM. The error message states:

"Cannot load geometry. No CAD parts were generated: File may be corrupt or of the wrong type."

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists:

✅ Checked that the file format is STL, STEP, or IGES
✅ Opened the file in other CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and it looks fine
✅ Re-exported the file with different settings
✅ Verified that the file is not too complex (too many polygons)
✅ Checked that the file is stored in a directory without special characters
✅ Changed the temporary file location in EDEM Creator > Tools > Options > File Locations

Could this be caused by an issue with the file units (mm/m), a corrupt temporary file, or an unsupported geometry type? Are there any additional troubleshooting steps I should try?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. 😊

    Hello @39Chae ,

file units would only affect the scaling of your geometry. The file formats that you mentioned above are also the ones supported in EDEM. Could you maybe share the CAD file that you are working with?

    Best regards,
