EDEM on Linux GPU

Good day,
Please, I am currently running a simulation that involves spherocylinders, and this seems to require GPUs for the simulation to work.
In my university, we have an advanced computing center that provides GPUs for students; however, I was told the GPUs only work with software that runs on Linux.
Please, how can I make EDEM run on this Linux for me to use the GPU?
or is there any other way I can use EDEM with a GPU?

Hi Johnson,
Just to note the free student edition of EDEM is limited to CPU only, however if you have the full version this is GPU compatible.
EDEM runs on any compatible Nvidia GPU, this can be Windows or Linux. You can check if you have a compatible GPU by opening EDEM and going to Tools > Options > Simulator Engine> CUDA and running 'device start test'. For example my Windows laptop has a compatible GPU which is good for smaller simulations:
Once you have run this test and it's successful you can select the GPU solver in the EDEM Simulator.
However I would expect your university advanced computing centre has better GPU's better suited to processing larger jobs. If you want to run on Linux you would need to download and install the Linux version of EDEM from https://altairone.com/Marketplace , typically this is done by the IT group. Then depending on the setup you may not have a user interface, often users are setting up simulations locally on Windows and copying the files over to Linux to run, but this depends on your specific setup.
