NUT & BOLT SIMULATION IN INSPIRE MOTION

Hi all,

I am trying to simulate the nut and bolt simulation and I am using Inpire motion for my modeling.
After applying the appropriate boundary conditions I clicked the play button under Analyze Motion. It gots freezed . It was not working.

Here I Used two conditions,
1) Grounded the bolt and Assign the motor to nut & make a contact to the parts.

2) Grounded the nut and assign the motor to bolt and make a contacts between them.

But both of the conditions are not worked.

Is there any tutorial available for modeling and simulating nut & bolt using Inspire motion or Motion view.

This is the model I am working.
How to simulate this assembly using Inspire Motion or Motion View?

Hello @Sivaprakash_V,

I have created a model with the nut and bolt, with a motor for the nut. Please go through the motor settings. We need to remove the restrain center line so that the contact is initiated and causes the linear motion.

Hi @Sivaprakash_V,

Can you please attach your model? You likely just need to change the constraint on the Motor to allow it to move along the bolt.

Here I want to lock the bolt and simulating the nut towards the bolt head.
If i run the above scenerio, can I find the torque required to tightend the nut.

Hi @Sivaprakash_V,

If you are planning to use this fastener in a larger model as a constraint, it should be noted that there is a Fastener Tool in Inspire that can replicate a simple fastener.

Thanks for your quick reply!

I am not using this fasteners as constraint in larger model and this is the major role play in our model. We have to remove this nut or bolt in particular applications by use of nut removing tool. So that I want to simulate it .

Are you saw the model which I shared previously?

Ok, I understand.

The CAD you provided is actually causing my installation to stall when trying to simulate a Contact between the provided parts. This is highly irregular, so I am not sure if the CAD needs to be repaired first.

Can you share the STMOD file that you were using for troubleshooting instead?

Actually, I am also faced the same issue.

Sure, I share the STMOD file for your reference.

If the above file are not works properly, You can use any nut and bolt model and I can use as reference file then replicate the same.

I replicate the same thing in my model, It was not working.
But I applied in the random nut and bolt model, it working well.
