How to Simulate the Planetary gear in Motion solve?
Hi ,
I have a planetary gear Assembly and want to simulate using Motion solve and using it MBD analysis using Flexible bodies. I go through some tutorials like piston and cylinder, four bar mechanisms. They used revolute joints at specific location for simulation and analysis. I don't know how to simulate the Planetary gear mechanism in Motion solve.
I attached the Image for reference.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi @Sivaprakash_V,
Modeling planetary gearsets has never been easier than with the Machinery Tools Extension, as you can now define an assembly straight from the Entity Editor:
The Wind Turbine Gearbox example model has a planetary gearset fully defined to better understand the required inputs:
However, this is a composite entity and can not be converted to a flexible body. In most cases, flexible gearsets are not recommended, so I would instead suggest using this planetary entity for your specific analysis.
Hope this helps!

Hi @Sivaprakash_V,
Going off of Adams post. We also have a video tutorial of the reduced gearbox in the machinery extension. You can access it here:

Hi @Sivaprakash_V ,
For the machinery tools extension, you need to download separately. For 2024.1, you can download it from here:

Thanks & Regards,
