Error activating license: License already exists in license store

Good day


I tried to download and activate PSim on a new device on Monday (02/12/2024), I later realized that this is one of the limitations of the student license. I queried by emailing academicsupport@altair.com on Monday (02/12), however I needed to go on with work and I decided to use my old device until the license expires. I did not notify them on my decision to keep on using my old device and my license was deactivated yesterday (05/12). However every time I try to reactivate my license now it is giving me this error.

Please help me this is very frustrating

    HI,

    Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the product in your machine with the same license key.

    You can deactivate if you have access to both machines, but this feature is only if a computer breaks down and will not work more than a few times.

    Thank you Rahul, for your answer. However this did not solve the problem, I have tried countless times to reactivate using the Altair license utility in C:\Program Files\Altair\2024.1\security\bin\win64\gui. I am hoping that the reactivation will work after some time, but am not sure. I will keep trying to activate it and notify you as soon as it works, but if there is anything you can do to assist in the mean time please help.

    Also the link you sent indicates that I need to deactivate my other device, I tried that as well. However I never activated it on that device in the end.

    HI,

    The message license already exists in license store means the activation is already successful,

    You could go to the location of the license in the license store, this is the path in the activation tab under the license store field, delete the .lic file there and then reactivate,

    please share screenshots of the error you see when starting psim as well
