Problem with Topology Optimization

Hi everyone,

I've a problem with Altair Inspire 2024.

I've a component with many applicated puntual force, like 70 forces; I've to manipulate that component to do Topology Optimization. There is a way to do that simply? I've tried Polynurbs and Polymesh but after the optimization I can't run the simulation because my component come with solid and surface instead only solid part and I can't go forward with my project.

I can also make that component with solidworks and after do substitution in Altair Inspire with component saved in STEP but an error comes out and tell me forces doesn't applied to the part, and I don't know why (obviusly parts where my forces are applied are in the same position with same dimension of my original component).

Anyone can help me?

thanks in advance.

Francesco

    Hi Francesco

Not sure this helps, but normally it is a good practice to have non-design space there the forces are applied.
If you have that, the surfaces will be kept during the topology optimisation and the realisation of the final topolgy part becomes easier!

Yes I have a non-design space during topology but after that the mesh that comes out is not jointed with my surfaces and I can't joint that parts in one part only. I have to do that to make another analysis to confirm my TO.
